The house was beautifully appointed and we were impressed by its spaciousness. We were staying there over New Year so it was lovely to see that Christmas decorations were up as I was expecting to do that myself. All the necessary accoutrements were supplied in more than enough quantities and were of good quality. The semi basement two bed apartment was a perfect arrangement for my daughter and her husband and two children with its own sitting room and dining area. The fact that every bedroom had en suite toilet and shower was a real asset, particularly for my son's family with a young baby. There was a cosy feeling to the main sitting room which is on the first floor with an interesting view over the sea. There was plenty of seating but there were only eight adults, two children and a baby in our party. All the rooms were immaculate and drew oohs and aahs as people saw them for the first time!
Most of the adults had some knowledge of Margate and we were pleased to see how it's developed. We all enjoyed Dreamland, those who went to the Turner Gallery came back with great photos and our regret was that we didn't see the Shell Grotto. We had gone to Margate specifically for the pantomime and we were impressed by the old theatre it was in. Parking was difficult in the town but we were normally alright outside the house. The position of the house in the town meant we could walk to all the places we wanted to go if the weather was alright.
We also went to The Walpole Hotel for tea. I had been there before and was pleased that all my guests were delighted by it.
It was all a celebration for my 70th birthday so we had lunch at The Ambrette in the old town on New Year's Day and the food was superb.
I would recommend the house to friends but a lot of them already live in that area so they're unlikely to need to stay there!
