We stayed in this lovely lodge Aug 2016, as a family of six (Parents and four children ages 15, 10, 8, 7). This was our first stay in a lodge rather than a static caravan and we found we had so much more space. Bedrooms had proper beds in that had a good space between them, made up for our arrival. It was however, a little hot with just quilts and no sheet, it was the hottest week of the year. A shower room (ensuite) and bathroom with shower over bath, again both spacious and clean. The living area had comfy seating and an extendable table so we could sit together for meals. A fully equipt kitchen with everything you need to make meals and serve up. I did struggle with finding enough cupboard space for food as it is so well stocked! Full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven all lovely and clean and easy to use. Decking was private and enclosed (gates bot shut) with a little grass area below that the kids enjoyed playing on. It also had a picnic bench in addition to the seating on the decking. Has definitely converted us to lodges rather than caravans! Kitchen had plenty of cleaning products and a clothes airer which was great for drying out all the swimwear.
The location of the lodge is at the end on a road on the end plot next to hedges so it is lovely and quiet. A short walk to the club house, with evening entertainment which we enjoyed on the one night we went. It was too loud for our 8 yr old. Swimming is open a good amount of time, into the evenings which meant we could use the facilities as well as going out for the day. The indoor pool is not very deep at one end but then slops down round the corner to the deeper end. Family changing rooms, kept clean, with lockers to put the stuff in. Theres some 'spa' rooms, at the poolside, we didn't use as you have to be 16yrs old to use them. The outdoor pool was clean and had seating around. Our 7 and 8 year old could just touch the bottom in the shallow end. Our 15 year old liked collecting the tickets in the amusements, it had a good amount/range of machines she was never waiting long to get on one she wanted. We had ordered the food we needed from the local Tesco via click and collect before leaving home, so we didn't eat at the reastaurant but the food smelt delicious. Theres a spar shop on site with the normal site shop stuff, a little playpark for the younger ones and activities to take part in during the day if your interested. Far better site than some big named ones!
