            Best views ever!

We are a group of ramblers from across the country who met 21 years ago at university. Every year for the past 12 years we have got together in a beautiful part of the country for a walking holiday. 2016 was the year for exploring the Isle of Wight! St Lawrence Dene was an excellent option for us - there are 17 of us (although numbers tend to fluctuate through the years) and normally we split up into smaller groups and book separate lodgings within the same area due to our larger head count. It was so pleasant to all stay together under one roof for the first time since we started our trips together. The kitchen is large and well equipped, as is the dining room with huge square table (the biggest any of us have seen!), the living room comfy and the views from the top floor bedrooms are incredible! We saw large ships passing at night all lit up and a couple of us were lucky enough to spot badgers on one of the lawns. The hot tub was a blessing to soak in after our downs walks (the best of which was the trail from St Lawrence Dene itself to St Catherine's Lighthouse in Niton, followed by a tasty lunch at The Buddle Inn). We found the house to be well looked after, clean, peaceful and quite honestly none of us wanted to leave! Highly recommended for groups of friends and families.

Very nice Villa with a great view of the creek

            5 of 5
Lovely little Villa in a great location. Nothings very far away and its only 10 minutes from the ferry port and there's a shingle beach 5 minutes up the road. We had a great break and Katie the owner was absolutely fantastic with plenty of communication. The Villa was perfect for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. We stayed the week before Cowes week so the island was just starting to get busy on the last friday but other that it was pretty quiet. You do have to allow a bit of extra time driving though as the traffic jams into the main towns were fairly long. I think this is down to there basically being one main road around the island. Well worth a visit was the needles old battery, albeit very windy and the tank museum (which my wife and daughter even enjoyed). Overall a great break and we would definitely stay at Rockville again. :)

            A Perfect Base

            5 of 5
We were after a quiet 2 bedroom property in Wootton. Being a 5 minute drive from Fishbourne Ferry Terminal & approximately 15 minutes from Ryde & East Cowes terminals makes Wootton an ideal location. The villa itself was clean & fresh linen & towels are provided. The kitchen-diner provides everything you need, cooking utensils, pots & pans, fridge freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker & tea pot as well as crockery & cutlery. There's a bathroom on the ground floor & a shower room on the first. The bedrooms are spacious & the beds are comfortable. There's a sofa bed in the lounge should you need an additional bed too. There was enough storage for all our clothes. There is a parking space which makes loading easy. There is a small patio area which was great for alfresco dinning & watching our children playing on the grass area to the front of the development which overlooks the creek. The villa is also non smoking so please respect that. The owner, Katie, has put together a great folder which provides all the information you need plus some recommendations. Would we use the villa again? Absolutely. For us it provided the perfect base to explore & enjoy the Island.
