We had a wonderful 10 stay in a village which immediately felt homely. South Cottage was warm, clean, comfortable and very well appointed.
The location of Orton Village was rural, yet accessible, set in a dip in the valley, where all lanes out lead to the most magnificent views. We were able to go for circular walks out of the village up the hills and back down various lanes, meeting friendly people and animals along the way. It was really easy getting to the A66 or M6 without ever hearing them from the village. We had days out to Richmond (Yorkshire), Kendle and over the border to Scotland (visiting family).
The village pub was extremely welcoming and friendly, serving good home cooked food, lunchtime and evenings. Such a lovely place to visit, we are now looking for a home there, as we are relocating.
