Best holiday

4 of 5
My best holiday ever, and the reasons for that are not only one. But Ballaterson Cottages and Georgina was two of them, and the people of Ballaugh.

Total comfort on a beautiful island

5 of 5
This was a very well appointed, spotlessly clean cottage with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever had away from home. After a long & tiring journey it was great to find a welcoming plate of home-made cake and everything needed for a hot drink. Georgina was really helpful with local knowledge and the one totally wet day was easily spent in the comfortable surroundings of the cottage. We will be recommending this to friends and family. We ate out at Niarbyl (great seafood chowder but no sight of a basking shark) and had a more special meal at the Boatyard in Peel (some food/drinks had a Japanese style) as well as a superb brunch at Little Fishes on departure day as we waited for the ferry to arrive in Douglas. The tourist info centre in Douglas was very helpful with a reasonable range of leaflets etc.
