A lovely holiday near Edinburgh City Centre

5 of 5
The three of us had a lovely holiday in Fiona and Al's Annexe. We spent just under a week in August. We had lovely weather, only a little rain. The bus stop was just across the road and we regularly jumped on the 41 bus to the City Centre (20-25 mins). The bus fare was £1.60p - no need to take a taxi from the station. Fiona provided more than the usual essentials when we arrived, eg tea, coffee, sugar, milk, etc which was very kind and unexpected. Supermarket is not far, only 5 mins away.. We didn't even realise the Edinburgh festival was on so it was a surprise when we went along the Royal Mile to see all the street performers. The kitchen in the Annexe is very well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The garden was lovely. Fiona was really helpful and Al was very nice. The Wifi was not great as it kept cutting out but it worked fine when connected. The Royal Botanical Gardens was a very nice surprise, really beautiful, it was free entry there but a fee to enter the glasshouses. We would highly recommend the Annexe to all.

Lovely house. Gorgeous views. Very well appointed.

Bruach is lovely. Perfect for playing scrabble with my 96 year old mum with those views. Lovely size house with everything you need in it. Cosy. Quiet. Not a lot happening in Newburgh but the Main Street was full of interesting buildings and nice walk along the front. Locals were very welcoming. Brilliant position for Perth, Dundee, St Andrews and so easy to get to from Edinburgh. Recommend the newly opened Backhouse Rossie Estate nearby. Lovely gardens and lemon drizzle cake! Highly recommend this house. Looking at when we can go back.
