Delightful cottage right by the beach

                    5 of 5
This is a lovely modern cottage equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing family holiday. It is literally a minute's walk from a huge sandy beach when there are several beach bars if you want to eat out locally, and a large supermarket is about 10 minutes drive away for all the essentials. The cottage itself was beautifully clean and comfortable and Carmen the property manager was very helpful whenever we required her assistance. The towns of Vera, Garrucha and Mojacar are all worth a visit and for kids there is a water park about 10 mins drive away, but most of the time we were happy to soak up the sun on the beach and by the pool. The terrace opens directly onto grass and the pool side and even in August we regularly had the whole pool to ourselves. Claire the property owner is very friendly and made booking the cottage very easy. She was always on hand to respond promptly to queries and keen to ensure we had a great time. Which we did - I would recommend the property to anyone looking for a chilled family break. I think hiring a car is a must as there are no local shops. Also ask Claire about the dates of the Dreambeach festival when you book. This is a large music festival situated just down the beach which is very noisy - it entertained our teenage children but would not be to everyone's taste! All in all a great place, well worth a visit.

                    Amazing Place

                    5 of 5
We booked the holiday for a relaxing week and it certainly allowed us to do that. It is just a shame we didn't book for longer. The garden and terrace's are amazing. We especially enjoyed spending our evenings on the Moroccan inspired terrace drinking wine and eating good food. We took plenty of photographs for inspiration in our own home. The villa itself is positioned away from any built up area so on an evening all you can hear is the sound of the crickets and a distant barking dog. Our hosts Lisa and Herbie were also amazing. We brought our one year old Daughter with us and for her first holiday and Lisa and Herbie provided us with a cot and a small paddling pool which she jumped in at every opportunity! Also the home made bread was warmly welcomed upon our arrival, thanks Lisa! Internally the villa offered us all that we needed, a nice clean and airy space with a kitchen with everything required for travelling with a young child. The grounds are well maintained with a number of fruit trees and cacti. We had the the pleasure of meeting Pedro the gardener who taught our daughter her first Spanish word. Even now almost two months after we left Spain she wont stop saying 'Hola' to everyone she meets. We ventured into Lorca, Aguilas and a couple of nearby beaches but we preferred to just relax by the pool. If you have small children Aguilas is great as it has a fun fair and a large playground close to the sea front. It also has a number of restaurants dotted along the promenade. I can't recommend this place enough, we had an amazing time and would love to return.
