Lovely and charming rural accommodation in spectacular scenery. Friendly owners. Deep pool.

Lovely conversion, simply and nicely done, on the owner's beautiful estate on the side of a mountain. The views from our secluded terrace were stunning. The hen-house had everything we needed (including its own washing machine) and was spotless. It also kept us cool in the 30 degree heat. There are 3 different conversions in the grounds but they're some distance apart and each one has its own outside area and you're never crowded. The owners were helpful and welcoming. From the nearest station (10 mins drive from the property) it was a 40 minute train ride to Florence. You're about 1hr 30 min drive from the famous Chianti places like San Gimignano. You're very rural and peaceful - nearest shops and restaurants in Londa about 10 mins drive. Londa also has a reservoir with walking trails, playpark, stream to paddle in and a great pizzeria (Da Fischio). The only downside to the rental was that the communal pool on the property is 3 metres deep! It is locked (you have a key) and there are lots of inflatables and it is small enough that a few strokes will always get you to the side, but, if you have young kids who are not confident swimmers, it can be scary. Consider taking strap-on floats.
