Peaceful place in an exotic environment
5 of 5
Incredible welcome from Georgis. We had the feeling of being in a 5 star hotel the whole week we spent there. We arrived very late on Saturday evening during the Greek Easter weekend. Georgis was waiting for us with Pedros to welcome us and show us everything in the house. Fridge was full of groceries, big basket of fresh fruits what we really enjoyed. The house is spacious, with plenty of large windows enabling to enjoy an open view, and equipped with everything you may need (including an espresso machine). The garden is amazingly taken care of on a daily basis (the garden is mostly on the road side but there is a nice small tropical zen place on the other side with the fish pond and the parrots). The parrots and the toco tucan are just beautiful (our daughters loved them). Their cages are designed to make them really part of the house without any disturbance. The house is very well located just at the exit of the New national road, 50m from a bakery and 300m from a supermarket. Very convenient to fetch something to eat before or after visiting this amazing region. We strongly recommend this place and warmly thanks Georgis and Pedros for having made our week just great.

Timeless and Atmospheric
4 of 5
Angeliki is a small, well restored cottage/farm building next to and surrounded by a working farm. The terrace is fantastic with excellent views of the white mountains, the carob tree is not only beautiful but offers dappled shade. Although it is relatively close to the village (with tavernas ans shop) and about 20 minutes from two seaside towns we felt like we're deep in the country where little has changed in years. There are wild birds, plants, crickets, frogs and cicadas, along with spectacular mountains and gorgeous sunsets. The farm has chickens, pigs and goats and sheep feeding in the olive groves. It is full of the sounds of a farm (cockerels and sheep bells) as well as wild birds and insects.
We loved it and would come again in a heart beat apart from access issues. It is not the house's fault as it is a historic building but there are steps (1,2 or three) into every room and if you are arthritic it makes moving through the building a bit difficult. The bedrooms are large and comfortable but the living space is small though this is compensated for by the fantastic terrace. Maria comes into clean regularly and is really friendly as are the neighbours and the people in the taverna in the village. Great place, brilliant locality and really interesting area with historic Ancient Greek site and good beaches.
