Just had a wonderful two weeks at Elea Apartments with my family. Apartments were very spacious and clean. My two girls 7 and 5 loved the garden and pool. Beach and park are just 5 mins away with woodland walks to three other beaches. Good bus route to Chania where you can easily spend a day or two walking around the old town and harbour. Owners and staff very helpful with information and will provide delicious home cooked food. Would definitely like to return again next year.
The house is lovely, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean with 2 good sized bedrooms, decent bathroom, comfortable living area and fully functioning kitchen. The location is just great, about 20 steps to the little taverna on the corner which is first in a row of similar tavernas, all very pleasant. Nice quiet little resort so no noise problems experienced by us.
You then have about another 20 steps down to the pebble beach with the most stunning clear sea and views out of the bay and also up to the ruined castle on the hill - just gorgeous! Plenty of sunbeds when we were there and nobody came round for any money (this was Sept/Oct so not sure about high season). I spent a lot of time swimming while I was there, I would recommend getting waterproof shoes to protect your feet on the pebbles but other than that its just perfect. There are sandy beaches nearby for those that prefer sand.
The castle is definitely worth a visit but make sure you wear proper walking shoes and do it either early morning or late afternoon when its not too hot as its a real climb with no proper path. There are no signs or any real clues as to how to get up there so bit of an adventure but the views when you're up there are just fantastic and well worth it.
Other than that Rhodes is a lovely little island that is sadly a little neglected in places but we still enjoyed exploring it with our hire car. Rhodes old town is beautiful if rather over commercialised in places, the Acropolis and Lindos I would say the same about. We did a glass bottom boat trip from Pefkos which was really good fun and I would definitely recommend.
All in all a fantastic holiday, lovely house and location and Karen and Anna were so helpful and ensured everything ran smoothly for us, couldn't fault the service we received from them at all. Big thank you and I would love to think we'll be back some day :)
