                                                                                                      This was previously an area we just drove through on route to the Royan area, not anymore. The gite was spacious, very well equipped and clean. The owners Susie and Roddy who live next door with their family are charming and helpful, and welcomed us into their home. If like us you like cycling and wildlife then this is as close to heaven as you will find - everyday we saw 100's of Storks, Kites, Purple, Night and Grey herons. We heard Hoopoe and Golden Oriole from the garden and were charmed by the Black Redstarts and Green Woodpecker whilst having breakfast. The marshes in the area are criss-crossed with quiet lanes that are delightful for cycling. We have been coming to France for many years and this Gite is definitely in the top 3 - we will definitely return.

                                                                                                      Quiet and ideal for our needs plus lovely owner

                                                                                                      The property suited us fine, quiet and ideal for us with a bedroom each and a lovely environment and location. The property however would benefit greatly from money being spent eg shower cubicle and gardening work to enhance what is a fantastic Alice in Wonderland experience. We will be more than happy to spend more time there, but a cash injection would turn the whole experience into something special. We must emphasize that the owner was a most lovely lady, very accommodating and if we lived nearby would be a friend.
