We stayed with Judith and Keith for 7 nights and felt lucky to have discovered this little gem. The apartment was very comfortable, with everything you could think of to hand. There was no shortage of glasses, cooking equipment, coffee machine even a juicer which made us feel relaxed and able to make what ever we wanted. We also need to mention how comfortable the bed was. Crisp white linen and a firm bed meant we slept like babies, waking up to the glorious sound of the birds and the sunshine!
We arrived at approx 7pm to find a very warm welcome and a fridge full of local wine, milk, water, orange juice, eggs, mustard and fresh bread and croissants for the following morning. Judith and Keith have been hosting for a long time and the attention to detail shows. The apartment itself is perfect for two people with different areas for alfresco dining, lounging on the patio or chilling beside the beautiful pool area next to the outdoor kitchen. Wherever we positioned ourselves the views across Judith and Keith’s 70 olive trees were stunning!
The area of Flayosc is beautiful with stunning walks through the vineyards, and a village where you can buy everything you need including the delicious local cooperative wine. It is a great base for exploring other villages, the lake and the mountains. It’s just over a 1 hour drive from Nice airport so you get the benefit of being away from it all without having to commit to hours and hours of driving. With the help of Judith and her knowledge of the area we have already booked to return with our family next summer for 4 weeks in a local villa. We can’t wait!
A big thank you to Judith and Keith for everything! We look forward to seeing you soon!
Loved our two week stay here in September 2017. I did try to do a full review but ran out of space so will do a quick pro's and con's.
Pro's - Stunning views, extremely clean, great layout, lots of facilities, almost everything you need in the kitchen, fresh towels, supermarkets close by, weather amazing, beautifully decorated, really well equipped, pizza oven was fantastic, hot tub was so relaxing, sauna was great
Con's - biggest was lack of communication from the owner on the lead up not matter how many calls, emails and text were sent. Pool and hot tub where not cleaned or checked for chlorine during any or our stay and not sure it was done before we arrived. A little tired in places for example pool had missing tiles, taps that don't turn off fully or leak, double bed made from two singles and two single duvets used rather than the correct size, edging on the pool really harsh, missing skimmers on pool, no sunbed cushions, sofa extremely uncomfy and bed mattresses well used and hard. Aircon in the two downstairs bedrooms did not work. Really no English TV channels that we found other than one I think
All the con's are just niggles really and didn't affect our day to day enjoyment really. I think it just needs a little investment in some decent pillows, bedding and comfort things and a little DIY in places. However, would I stay again? Absolutely the views alone were 5 star as you sit sipping your freshly ground coffee from the machine they have every morning and enjoy a local Merlot from the Vin Yard shop just round the corner in the evening as you wait for your pizza or BBQ to cook and enjoy the sun set. Happy to receive emails if further information required as owner does not speak any english: firstname.lastname@example.org
