We stayed for a week in early May. The weather was mixed so we are very pleased to have somewhere nice to stay. It was great to have a private garden and the BBQ was fantastic we made great use of it! The cottage is just outside the lovely hilltop village of Villars - about 1km and there is a fantastic restaurant - La Fontaine, a good bar and another restaurant that we didn't get time to try. There is of course also a boulangerie and a post office - both with erratic opening times!
The owners don't speak very much English, but we got by with gestures and a few words - a phrase book would have been useful. But they were very helpful with any requests or problems we had.
I would recommend it to friends and family but I would caveat that with a couple of minor points - there was no internet which was included on the listing, not a massive deal but we had planned to research days out while we were there and ended up having to do this on mobiles which could have been expensive. The property felt like it needed a bit of TLC - a really deep clean, a few hours from a gardener and a lick of paint here and there. Worth noting that the stairs are very tight and the bathroom is too floors below the bedroom - but the listing does state that its not suitable for people with mobility problems. It didn't detract from the stay but it would have made it even better.
