            Our permanent French haven

            5 of 5
This is the tenth year in succession that we have stayed here. Prior to coming here we had never been to the same place twice - apart from Venice - but even with Venice we always stayed at somewhere different each visit. At La Betoulle we think it is going to be impossible to better the warmest of welcomes, the tranquility of the surroundings and the ambience of the delighful rooms. Penny's breakfast are stuff of legend and you won't find a better breakfast - where everything is home-prepared and/or home grown - anywhere in France. What else can we say but we are already booked in for next year, just juggling with the dates. Cannot recommend highly enough.

            Excellent property on beautiful estate

            5 of 5
My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Manoir la Betoulle. We stayed in the smaller gite, le Petit Bois, which was very comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped. The bedroom was spacious and opulent and the shower room was excellent, (large and vigorous shower head and Jacuzzi jets). Penny and John Hitchings are charming hosts, a delightful couple, who strive to ensure that guests on their property have a great experience. We decided to take advantage of their daily breakfast hamper which set us up for the day. If we’d had enough time, we would have used the well maintained tennis court but we did manage to use the table tennis table a few times. There is also a large swimming pool and sun terrace, and very pleasant grounds to walk in. The gites are also well stocked with board games and information on all that there is to offer around the local area and beyond. Manoire la Betoulle is excellent value for money. We would not hesitate to book another holiday there if ever we are travelling to that area of France again.

            Glorious setting.

We were met by the very welcoming Housekeeper who gave us a comprehensive overview of Le Petit Pre. The gorgeous house was spotless and the kitchen far better equipped than ours at home! We luxuriated in the space that the property provided both inside and out. It would comfortably have accommodated two families. We used the pool all day, everyday and the when we need a change of scene, an ongoing table tennis tournament provided distraction in the barn. Children aged 15,12 & 5 were kept occupied and happy for a week with all that the property provided and we are only mildly ashamed to say that the only time we left the house was to drive the very short distance to the hypermarket for food! It was a fabulous setting for a family holiday, little things like the bed linen, the housekeeper's help with a query mid week, the trampoline and numerous different places to sit and read a book or sup a sundowner - oh and the wifi ( kids v. happy with this) made it a place to stay we all wholeheartedly recommend. It's very easy to find too!
