Lovely property in quiet part of France
A well-maintained property with a lovely pool on a site in rural France. The pool and the on-site AstroTurf putting area made the location ideal for our 10 year old. The site was quiet and the property private. The property is a home me from home with Sky sports and a small but well- equipped kitchen. The only downside was a lack of a fan as temperatures high in August. The surrounding area is quiet although if prepared to try the local restaurants then great value - although they tend to be a set menu. Try Auberge des Voyageurs in Meningute which was particularly good and owner speaks English.
Poitiers is the largest city in the area, about 45 mins away - well worth a visit. Do watch out for the crazy local drivers on the small roads.

Perfect for Peace & Quiet.
We stayed at the Wildflower Gite for 5 days as we were house hunting around the area.
Yvette & Chris made us feel very welcome and left some essentials for us which included, fresh eggs from their chickens, milk, coffee, jam, cereals, water and juice.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were next door if we needed anything and even left papers and magazines about the area for us to read.
Everything was provided too, I would just say that maybe the kitchen could do with a few more utensils and possibly another frying pan but other than that everything was perfect. (This was because my husband does the cooking and it is what he said he needed!).
Yvette & Chris invited us into their garden for drinks with them while we discussed houses that we had visited, they are very knowledgeable and knew a lot of the areas that we had been to.
I would recommend staying with them if you just want to chill and relax.
We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future.
We arrived as strangers but by the time we left they had become friends.
A gorgeous old house in the French countryside
We stayed here for a week in April, 2011, an extended family with five adults and two children aged 9 and 7.
The house is a lovely old french farmhouse, which has been restored so that it has every comfort you could want. The garden was enormous, with lots of space for the kids to run around in, and we did swim in the pool, even though it was probably a bit early in the season.
The kitchen was very well equipped, making it easy to cook real food (not just boil pasta) and there was a nice big barbecue as well.
The nearby village about 10 minutes walk away and has a very nice patisserie, as well as an epicerie with some good charcuterie.
The countryside around is lovely, with lots of different small paths to walk to, and nearby villages with good shops.
There is a supermarket about 7 Kilometres away, and it is about half an hours drive to Poitiers.
David was very helpful, giving us good driving instructions to get there, and an excellent tour of the house when we arrived, and good recommendations on restaurants and sights nearby. A beautiful place to stay in the French countryside.
