Late springtime was the perfect time for a fair-skinned creature like myself to visit the gorgeous Croatian island of Hvar. With the busy season over, the island felt relaxed and content and the temperature was a very comfortable 22 - 25C throughout our stay. The accommodation is lovely, with much thought gone into convenience and comfort for us guests. The cottages are just as described, with even basic supplies provided for you in a 'welcome pack' upon arrival - something I have never experienced while on a self-catering holiday on the continent before! The welcome pack included. among other useful items, fresh bread, milk and a selection of homemade jams (made by Chris herself I believe) and such, that took care of our breakfasts for our entire stay. Although we did splash-out once for breakfast, which Chris and Mick (the owners) cooked for us at an extra cost and were glad we did. A full English far from home is always a rare treat, especially when it's done properly (there was even black pudding while we were there). But by and far the most useful service that they provide is their 'taxi service'. Mick knows the island like the back of his hand and will take you anywhere you wish to go for a very reasonable price. They can also collect you from the ferry port(s) upon arrival, so if like me and my partner you do not drive, or have not brought a car along, you won't miss out on anything. Mick even came to collect us from Hvar Town at 3am one night, and tolerated our drunken ramblings all the way back to Vrbanj. An excellent holiday and excellent place to stay. Highly recommended, I will be staying there again.
