Where do I start? Casalita was everything we hoped for and more! The villa was extremely spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a group of 15!
The kitchen was well equipped, the dining table is huge and can fit large groups comfortably. There are also smaller seating areas outside with a large bbq. The indoor bar area was an added extra with more fridge space and a superb sound system that can be heard, inside, outside or both! 5 of the bedrooms had their own en suites which meant no fighting over showers! Plenty of towels were provided and there is also 2 washing machines in the outdoor utility room. The pool area was great, plenty of sunbeds and other seating areas where you can relax in the shade. The pool is large and has a shallow end suitable for children. It is filtered and was also cleaned by the housekeeper half way through our stay. The play area could do with an update as most toys are a bit tired but overall it is a fabulous Villa.
The local town is within walking distance, about 15 minutes, where you will find shops, restaurants and the beautiful beach. We used the local taxi driver on days where we had done a big shop. He knew the location of the villa and was very helpful with our shopping bags. We also used the local chef twice to order in paella which was absolutely delicious! You will find all this information in the pack provided in the villa.
As a host David was fantastic. He was always on hand to answer any questions we had! He arranged a mini bus transfer for us from Alicante airport which is about 1hr 30mins away. There is a water park about 30 minutes away in Cullera which we would recommend to groups with children. David got us quotes for both taxis and the mini bus to take us through to the waterpark. He really went above and beyond during our stay and we can’t thank him enough! We will definitely be back to Casalita!!!
Highly recommend this apartment. It is right on the most wonderful beach and the view from the balcony is amazing. When we were there in late May the weather was beautiful but we almost had the beach to ourselves. I imagine it gets busier in summer. Balcony faces East so sun is only on the balcony at breakfast, not lunch or dinner. You can however sit in the sun out the back by the stairs in the evening. The restaurants don't seem to open until about 8pm and not much was open this early in the season although near by Grau i Platja (10-15 mins drive) is much busier with plenty of restaurants and shops and playgrounds on the beach etc. The two supermarkets in Xeraco beach were very good - Charter had better baguettes than Spar in our opinion and longer opening hours including Sunday.
If you want to visit Valencia, you can very easily take the train from Xeraco station (less than 10 mins drive and free parking). Return to Valencia was 9 Euros and my 5 yr old was free. Takes you right in to the old town - beautiful city, well worth a day trip. Vicent the apartment owner was very helpful (he lives upstairs) and although he doesn't speak English we got by with a little french and with google translate! We would definitely return to this apartment/area another time.
