This cottage is very comfortable and had everything you need for your stay. DVD playing is via an Xbox console. Well maintained garden but it is tiered up to a higher level where the hot tub sits on a nice patio area with sea views. The cottage is a 15 minute walk to a beach and the same to walk to Fairbourne which does get mentioned much. But there is block of stores there such as an Indian takeaway, a general store selling all groceries, bread etc. , a delicatessen/cafe/cake shop, a butchers, greengrocers, fish and chip shop, post office and launderette. Everything you may need. And right by the mainline railway station and the little Fairbourne railway. A little further down the road by the beach is a pub/restaurant/grill bar with a great choice of drinks at reasonable prices, ice cream parlour and a small amusement arcade. All this within walking distance. It is also possible to walk into Barmouth across the pedestrian side of the railway bridge. It's 3.5 miles but is very doable. Overall, a great place to stay for a great break!
A beautiful setting with great views. Walk out the back door through woods to a quiet beach. Close to, but not in busy village centre. Interior of house very interesting with artwork and hangings. Bathrooms small but very modern. Beds comfy. Hot tub great. The only downside was the oven that all the settings had rubbed off so it was difficult to work and a dishwasher that wouldn't open when the cycle had finished. There was a technique to opening it because the handle had broken somehow. A great shame to tarnish what is a super house for the sake of two fairly important appliances.
