  • A lovely place, ideal for some peace and quiet.

We had a lovely stay with our dogs. Tucked away on a back country lane, it’s remote enough to experience the peace and tranquility of the Balmoral woodland estate, yet close enough (6 min drive) to take advantage of the local Ballater services. I can highly recommend the Deeside inn for a formal(ish) sit down meal, the local bakery for fresh bread and cakes, and the chippy for cooked-to-order fish super. However, the house is well stocked with all the necessities for cooking a good meal, good sized oven, hob, washing machine, dish washer and a lovely fire place for when it gets cold. The front garden is well kept and enclosed to allow the dogs to run freely. A dedicated track which runs behind the house and up the hill leads to a derelict castle, well worth the 15 min uphill hike. The bedrooms are very clean and the beds are comfy too. The living, dinning and kitchen layouts are spacious, bright and welcoming. We wouldn’t change anything about this place. It’s perfect. Thanks for letting this out to us.

Lovely, warm, clean cottage with lots of room. Loads to do in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer than a weekend.
