We chose this property as it was well placed to visit Parma, Piacenza and Castell' Aquarto. The local village, Agazzano and Bobbio were also nice places to visit with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. The array of fantastic local restaurants, serving delicious food and wine enhanced our holiday experience immensely, it is why we enjoy visiting Italy so much. The property is surrounded by gorgeous scenery with walking and bird / wild life spotting opportunities. The property was spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and clean, although just one dishwasher tablet for 1 week wasn't enough. The photograph on the website shows a sunny aspect but sadly there was no sitting area here to take advantage of warmth of the September sun. Perhaps some of the rosemary could be cleared to provide a private, sunny sitting area for this property. The covered eating terrace doesn't benefit from much sun and in September it was too cold to eat in there, although the views from it are magnificent and watching the birds at eye level, in adjacent trees was a joy. The grounds were beautiful and well kept in a rustic, natural way which was lovely. You do need a torch to approach the house from the car parking area after dark. The access road to the property was very lose and undulating, which was a worry in a hire car, where companies now inspect and charge for every scratch or chip on the paintwork. This was however, being improved by Orso, the caretaker during our visit. The pool and pool area were stunning, well maintained and very clean but of course they are for communal use.We did explore the grounds hoping to find some private sitting areas to take advantage of the sunshine for quiet reading and drinking, perhaps these could be considered. The information provided by the owner in the property was invaluable, especially the restaurant guide, thank you so much. It would have been beneficial to have had some information about local walks, although we did manage with our small scale road map and didn't get lost. The cooler evenings of September were just about warm enough in the property. We were pleased to be able to help ourselves to the blanket / duvet stores. There was no instructions on how to use the radiators as far as we could see. We enjoyed our holiday and we are sure others would as well.
