Joan and Peter are lovely hosts and the chalet was clean, warm and perfect for our Christmas stay.
The chalet is kitted out with everything that you need; there was even a coffee machine with plenty of coffee pods for our stay!
There is lots to do and see in the area and we will definitely be going back to see the tulips when they are in bloom.
Many thanks Joan and Peter.

The chalet it's self is very modern and clean slept four easily could sleep 5 using living room, the outside once again clean and had garden patio furniture and the option of a hot tub,id stay here again quiet happily and would recommend it to anyone especially if your into kite or windsurfing
Ijmuiden it's self is a little industrial but the campsite sits in a shallow of the dunes which it backs onto, so self contained away from the industrial site,10 min walk and your on a splendid big beach with some bars and restaurants, ideal for kite and windsurfing with areas marked for it., there is a car park closer to the beach you could park up at and then carry your gear down, bit of a haul from chalet unless you have a cart or inflatable gear.
also right behind the chalet campsite are some of the world war two north atlantic costal defence bunkers, little kids and big kids all love playing soldiers or you have the option of a guided tour of the 14 or so bunkers and antiaircraft remains.
some nice places to eat near by but the area looks industrial compared to other places, and the ferry boat to Amsterdam no longer runs which means a bus trip all the way or bus then train, unless your brave enough to try driving in Amsterdam i'll drive Rotterdam and the likes but never Amsterdam lol.
the location of the chalet is also very close to the Newcastle Ijmuiden ferry so you could easily have a cycling holiday ten minutes at most with all your gear till the chalet and then from there you explore Holland by use of the cycle networks which are first class,
all in all a nice wee place that i'll probably return to at some point
