A tidy apartment in the heart of Zurich. Adequate kitchen. Comfy bed. Easy walk to/from the main station. Shop at the Coop for wine, beer, fruits, fast foods, ...
Eating can be pricey but in the neighbourhood try
* Rheinfelder Bierhalle - classic, cheap, quick
* Pulcino - reasonable $ for pizza, pasta, wine
* Raclette Factory - cheap intro to raclette
A bit of evening noise due to its downtown location but otherwise great. Renters should be aware of the steep and narrow (under 36") staircase. And the floors are NOT level anywhere although this may be typical of classic old apartments in the area.
Less fit clients should be alerted about the steep and narrow staircase.
Our stay in the Limmat Tower apartment at Dietikon was pleasant, as the apartment was very clean, it had a fully equipped kitchen and a storage room where one could find almost everything one might need, not to mention the amazing view that gave us the impression of being in the countryside even though we were so close to the city of Zurich. Therefore we evaluate the location of the apartment absolutely perfect. The owner had left us with clear instructions on how to enter the property and also useful information about handling the devices available on the property. We so appreciated this brilliant and thoughtful gesture. The best espresso coffee along with a great coffee machine were also generously provided to us, one more gesture that turned out to be a huge relief after 13 days of us having tasted the worse coffee ever (mainly in France, Germany but also in many cafe at Switzerland -something was terribly wrong with the coffee machines everywhere!). Both bathrooms were super and so clean as the rest of the house. The spacious living room due to its lack of furniture was an issue to us, especially as there was no coffee table in front of the couch where one could put on a glass or anything one might have wanted to keep close to him while sitting on the couch. The matresses of the beds that were too hard for us, was also an issue, but this of course has to do with the prefferences of each person. Other people may prefer hard matresses. What I will never forget from my trip in Switzerland apart from its landscapes that look like the ones in fairy tails, was its people who were so open, friendly and eager to help you, always with a warm, friendly smile! My experience from the New Year's Eve in Zurich was absolutely precious mostly because of the Swiss people! What a joyful, contagious spirit... and how welcoming they were with the tourists! Talking and smiling to us! No sadness, no loneliness even though we were celebrating in a foreign country, away from our friends and families. We did feel like home! Many thanks for a wonderful stay and an amazing New Year's Eve!
P.S A balcony with portable glass to protect you from air and rain, as a specially designed place for smokers, was a huge asset of this property! Highly appreciated...
