What a find! We wanted somewhere close to amenities but quiet and somewhere our 13 year old dog would be welcome. Harbour Cottage was perfect.
The Cottage comprises a ground floor living room/kitchen and a small hallway leading upstairs to the toilet/shower room which was ideal for our needs and the wonderfully large light and airy bedroom.
The kitchen is equipped with a toaster; hob and oven (no microwave) ; kettle and fridge. It is a five minute walk to the local Sainsbury or Co-op (both situated on the beautiful Whistable High Street) but most importantly - is a one minute walk to the wonderful Whistable Harbour (literally "across the road" from the Cottage).
During our stay (July 2019) the weather was warm and muggy but the Cottage stayed wonderfully cool (helped by stone flooring which our darling doggy loved lying on to keep cool). There is a wood-burning stove which I am sure would make the cottage very warm on chillier evenings - but we had no reason to use it during our stay.
Parking is available on Bexley Street and the surrounding residential streets. We always found a space when we returned from day trips and never had more than a two-minute walk from the car. The area is quiet and residential so parking is very safe.
If you are looking for somewhere that has all the comforts you will need on holiday, in a beautiful location, where your dog is as welcome as you are - Harbour Cottage (and Whitstable) really does fit the bill. When we are next holidaying in the South-East we will definitely be booking Harbour Cottage again - and have no hesitation in giving a five-star rating in all categories. There is something magical about this little house... and it was a very important part of a very lovely holiday.
What a lovely quirky cottage in a quiet but central location within walking distance of all the great things Whitstsble had to offer. A real home from home with everything you could wish for....the added bonus was our own off street parking space. Thank you
