The apartment has large rooms and a particularly comfortable bed. Access to the city is easy. Have stayed in this apartment on 3 occasions and would stay again. "Fasties" down the road is a bonus.
We often say that places are "spotlessly clean", but this flat really was. We could have had eaten our dinner from the surfaces (not that we actually did) and there was not a trace of dust anywhere. The bed-linen was crisp (plenty of pillows), piles of clean towels, tea-towels, kitchen and toilet paper. The kitchen itself was well-equipped, with several sets of crockery, plenty of pots and pans, cutlery, etc. We couldn't have bettered the selection of equipment at home. If you don't want to cook in the evening, the local Italian-style restaurant (Rangie[r Bahnhof]) is just down the road. There is an endless list of places to eat in town of course.
There are good transport connections. We arrived by train and should have taken the S-Bahn to Salzburg Sam instead of a taxi (even though this was quite satisfactory, ca. €10). Alternatively, a bus (no. 23) runs past the door and takes you to the centre of town via the main station. The S-Bahn will take you not just to the centre of the city; it also opens up the surrounding area (we spent two days in Hallein, for example). Download the quando Salzburg app to have a full picture of the possibilities.
The balcony does exist and looks out over green fields towards the mountains. It is small and overlooks the road, but will provide a sunny place to sit in the mornings; however, we used the well-furnished dining room for our meals.
If you need to use the internet a lot, you will be somewhat frustrated, as it it slow and unreliable, and tends to chuck users out at crucial moments. But this is our only gripe. It was more than compensated for by the friendliness of the owners and the feeling that we were living in a small community. We would certainly stay here again if we spent another week in Salzburg.
