Wonderful to stay in this historic hall, with so much character. Enjoyable place to stay for myself and my daughter, with great garden, and appreciated being able to play pool and play the piano. It's a reasonable journey to get into the hearts of the Lakes, but we knew that before we came to stay.
We did have some issues, which were disappointing but didn't spoil our stay. Stephanie forgot to send us the key code (but quickly resolved) and forgot our request to use the folding bed, and there were problems and delays in getting the bedding to us. That said Stephanie was always prompt in responding by email/text.
A trip into the past, with the luxury of modern living. Orton Hall gave it all. We could imagine Elizabethan life and times in the Hall and enjoyed watching the wildlife through the stone mullioned window. The people in Orton village were friendly and informative and the food at the George Hotel was very good. The weather was appalling so trips out and about were a little curtailed, but this didn’t spoil our overall enjoyment. We would come back.
