  • Photo's don't do the property justice. Fabulous property, location and assistance from Naomi & Mark
    4 of 5

The property is a dream. Little more challenging than ideal to get to local restaurants without a car but it's worth the trouble. Naomi and Mark were fantastic hosts, helping us on many occasions re places to go, restaurants, lifts home, oh & not forgetting bike hire, loans of cycling helmets (thanks Mark)... We booked very late and were a little disorganised and while we had hoped to fill the property to its capacity, this never quite came off - more space for us! If you are planning on filling the property to capacity, one minor niggle would be the Massionette bathroom - which while fully functioning, is a wet room & perhaps not ideal for all guests & not to the high standards of the other bathrooms. Swimming pool is beautiful (photo's don't do it justice). We were perhaps a little unfortunate/fortunate to visit during unseasonably warm weather but the lack of aircon was a little challenging in the evenings. In the mountains, I understand the temperature usually cools quite considerably of an evening - so don't let that put you off. We did quite allot of cooking & there are no shortage of fantastic shops to buy supplies. The amazing kitchen has everything one could possible need. In short, the property is brilliant . Big credit/thanks to Naomi & Mark who made sure that we had everything we needed and were never more than a Whatapp message away.

  • Beautiful, relaxing and peaceful - and then the Fireflies!

This is a fantastic home from home location set between the sea and the mountains. You have your own space (ours was ensuite) and then there are balconies, a large kitchen, a huge lounge and patio areas. We breakfasted and dined outside every day. Riccardo is a mine of information, there for a chat if you want or leaving you private if that suits. We spent two days on the coast (the walks around the Portofino peninsula are almost deserted in contrast to Cinque Terre which are too crowded to be enjoyable) and two days exploring the inland mountains where you get a feel for the real Italy off the tourist trail (and the prices are half or even a quarter if you compare them to Portofino). And then the fireflies. Each evening we went to visit the display of fairy lights blinking in the woods all around you. Magical.
