We have just returned from a weekend on the Bamboo Boat. Han was the perfect host. He was there to meet us on board. A very clear but brief overview and that was it, we were free to start the birthday celebrations. The boat is really well adapted. It is quirky but that adds to the experience. Having the bikes to use was areal bonus. The location couldn't be better place. It seemed that everywhere we decided to visit was only ever a 10 minute cycle. Thank you Han for allowing us to see the splendour of Amsterdam from your wonderful boat.
This houseboat is a quirky, unique experience. You have to be able to go down a ladder to get into the living quarters. The sleeping berths are across from one another. We slept parents in one, teenager in the other. Our second teenager slept on the narrow sofa in the living/kitchen area (it isn’t quite a futon, and not cushy.) The ability to sit up top, outside is excellent. There are two rows of houseboats, and this one is on the inside, nearest to the street, not the water. The location is ideal, close enough to tram/metro/uber to all the things you want to see and do, but not in the a loud, crowded tourist area.
