If you are looking for peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings this cottage is ideal. It is tastefully decorated, beautifully furnished and has a lovely outside area where we enjoyed dining al fresco, reading and watching the hens, rabbits and horses in the field.
Nearby there are plenty of walks and the spa town of Vittel is worth visiting. For grocery shopping you will find all you need in Monthureux sur Saone.
Don't be put off by the outside of the property, our heart sunk when we arrived. Inside is all new and was perfect for our stay. A very large bedroom upstairs which easily took two trundle beds and a large double. Downstairs a very nice large double. The shower room was beautiful with plenty of hot water. Brand new washing machine and dryer in cupboard.
The only reason that it did not get 5 stars from us was the fact that it is still a work in progress. Needs much more crockery, only four mugs - although there were four French breakfast bowls, eight plates in all but loads of
glasses. We had to ask about the swimming pool and got a note with very limited times, 2 - 6 pm Tuesday to Friday only. No bikes or canoes but we didn't' ask to be fair. Garden area very small and still a work in progress. No information about anything in the gite. The owner however was very helpful
and charming. We would use again but as we booked very late we would prefer to go nearer the lakes, an area we know.
