Sandy Lane house was all that it said on the HomeAway page...and more. It was a beautiful house in a fabulous location, minutes from the beach, with great facilities...just bring your suitcase! The sleeping accommodation was arranged in 3 bedrooms with wonderfully comfortable beds and lots of extra linens.
David and Margaret were great to deal with at all times, quick to answer queries and most helpful.
I would happily recommend this house to others and would be delighted to holiday here again..
The Atlantic Lodge is located in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. The local residents are warm and friendly, greeting visitors with a smile and wave. Beautiful area to lodge if you enjoy hiking. The residents take pride in their community and country, and share their culture over a pint of Guinness at the Bothar Pub, just a short walk from Atlantic Lodge.
The home itself is beautiful. The sunroom is comfortable and relaxing to enjoy a good book and watch the sheep a few meters away. All bedrooms have beautiful views of the green pastures where sheep are grazing. The kitchen had utensils needed to prepare meals, and a lovely gift basket of starters if you do not make it to the market on your way in. The owners respond right away with any questions and gave us a nice overview of the area. My only suggestion is the bathrooms could use a hanger in the showers to store soap and shampoo.
The local golf course has nice views with the links style challenge, and is about 15 minutes away. Tigh TPs in Ballydavid serves the best fish and chips and soup. Visit Bricks Pub in Ballyferriter for live Friday night music performed by local residents.
When I have the opportunity to visit Ireland again, I will stay at the Atlantic Lodge.
