This was our first visit to this part of Italy and we were not disappointed. The apartment is modern and in a great location for touring northern Tuscany and Liguria. Although there was a language barrier this was not a problem, our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding mountains and villages are amazing and the views breathtaking. La Spezia is a great town and has wonderful beaches, the Cinque Terra is definitely worth a visit but go by train. The local town, Stadano, was very busy and very Italian. The local roads were often busy and occasionally local drivers carry out some strange manoeuvres, so take care on the roads. Overall we would recommend Casa Cloe as a great base for touring and to experience the local Italian life style.
We (2 families with kids) was there for a week. The host is great and attentive. I advise you not to hesitate asking for the guidance regarding local food, shops and attractions, hiking. The place is quiet and breezy even during the hot days, especially the back bedroom.
The nearest beach (you should have a car) is sandy and good for children with gently sloping entrance.
Thanks to Marion and have a great time.
