Our apartment had an additional small outdoor kitchen...great if you want to cook fish from the daily market, which is a joy to see such a vast range of produce. Sicily is a great place to explore, don't forget your walking shoes. Plenty of tours , but if you check out previously where the bus stations are you can do your own itinerary.
Fabulous architecture. Catania Tourist info in Doumo square very helpful...good English.
Luca met us from the airport and was very helpful with eatery suggestions.... very good.
Pastries are wonderful too!
Worth checking out the Greek amphitheatre, odd just going in off a busy road....nearly missed it! An amazing place...so large.....totally unexpected.
Bellini park is beautiful, even more so when a lady visitor sung a an aria in the bandstand!
Trip to Syracuse was interesting but they close the ruins if it rains, which it did for us!
Pity, but able to take a tourist bus ride to see the town, the catacombs are well worth a visit , so extensive, they close at lunchtime but the restaurant opposite is excellent.
We were very impressed with our 5 day visit, and will come back.
The accommodation at 'A bedda casa' was amazing. Very tastefully renovated large rooms, with many having original paintings on the ceilings. The apartment was large with plenty of space, very clean and beautifully decorated.
The kitchen was well equipped and our host had thoughtfully provided us with some items for breakfast. Double glazing and air conditioning meant that the rooms were very comfortable, light and airy.
Our host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
All in all a great location for sightseeing in Catania.
