This is a beautiful location up in the hills about 3 miles outside of Faverges, south of Annecy Lake. You definitely need a car to get about - the nearest local shops are in Faverges and it's a very long hill down to there! There is a convenient car parking area right outside the apartment with just two short flights of stairs up to our floor.
The apartment itself (one of two on our floor) was clean and tidy, and the kitchen area was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay including cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave along with all the necessary utensils. There was a nice balcony with a table & 2 chairs overlooking a lovely view of the hills and snow-capped mountains, and it caught the afternoon sun beautifully! There was a clothes airer out there too which came in very useful.
We had a lovely double room, and our son had a large single bedroom ( in with two bunk beds) all to himself.
The shower room was conveniently separate from the toilet and was lovely and warm.
It's a very peaceful location with just the birds and the crickets (and some beautiful chickens!) all making some lovely sounds!
We pre-arranged bedding with Jean Paul (the owner) for a small extra charge, but we had to take our own towels and flannels etc as these could not be provided. There is a washing machine available on the site somewhere but we did not need to make use of it.
There was a small TV but as all the channels were French we did not watch much. Free Wifi was available and we were given the code on arrival.
There were 6 eggs and a bottle of apple juice on the table when we arrived- much appreciated!
We arrived on a Sunday evening so unfortunately all three of the supermarkets in Faverges (including a Lidl) were closed and we did not have anything with us to eat - they were all open from 8 the next morning though, so not really a problem.
Annecy town was about a 30 minute drive away, Chamonix Mont-Blanc was about 1 hour 30 minutes away - and ALL the roads are surrounded by hills and mountains and are completely stunning!
We would highly recommend a stay here, its great for walking, a good base for sight seeing, its totally tranquil and Jean Paul the owner is just a short walk (or phone call) away if you need anything.
We will return for sure!
Ichave to thank Karine for her superb studio that she put at our disposal. She and her family are very welcoming people. Definitely I recommend to everyone to choose this location. Is close to Annecy, a wonderful city to visit and also one hour away of Geneva. Thank you Karine and hope to see you again
