  • A beautiful home set within an idyllic Tuscan village

Our time spent at Casa Joanna was the perfect antidote to busy city life. The house is filled with personal touches that make it feel more like a home than just a villa rental. We spent a lot of our time in the villa cooking in the kitchen and hanging out by the pool. The historic town of Lucca is very close by with lovely restaurants and beautiful churches. We also ventured out to beautiful Florence- only an hour door to door by car. We also made an excursion to the beach- half an hour by car. There are fantastic restaurants in the local area and lovely morning walks to be made into the hills just behind the village where the house is situated. We can't wait to return again!

  • Characterful house, delightful pool, beautiful surroundings

We have just spent the most wonderful week at this fabulous property. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 14 and 12) and we all loved our stay here - the time passed far too quickly! The house is in a quiet and peaceful area and you have complete privacy. However, the owner Silvia (who is very friendly and helpful) lives near by and can be at the property in a matter of minutes if needed (or she answers questions by text straight away) - so it is a perfect set-up! There is a sweeping driveway to get up the house which we managed with no problems and when you get to the house you feel really private. The house is extremely characterful - oldy worldy rustic charm - and is spotlessly clean. The bedding is of a beautiful quality and we used the 2 double beds, which were extremely comfortable. The kitchen is small but is very well equipped with good quality crockery etc and it all feels lovely and clean. The kitchen door leads out onto the very pretty eating area with lovely views, where there is a large table and very comfortable chairs. We ate here every night and spent hours around this table playing games, reading books and drinking a glass of wine!. The pool is fantastic - big, clean and in a lovely setting with the mountains as a back drop. It also feels secluded. It has a diving board and a deep end - so is fabulous for children (and parents!) who wish to learn to dive and jump into the deep end. There are very comfortable sun loungers and chairs at the pool. We also spent hours here! Lucca is a short drive away and there are also numerous other smaller places to visit easily from here. We went to Barga in the mountains and also Montecarlo - all really pretty places and great trips out - but there are loads of other places too, that we didn't have time to get to. If you like chilling out in a beautiful and peaceful setting, eating outside and swimming in the pool - then this is the place for you!
