  • Super clean and comfortable

We arrived after dark, but that wasn't a problem as we immediately felt at home and comfortable. Sadly at this time of year, the sun-room was too cold to sit in, but we managed to take our morning cup of tea outside and stand in the sun of the little patio for a while, listening at the birds, which was bliss! Maybe the lighting in the living room could be improved; we found it quite gloomy for reading. The kitchen was very well equipped (although we couldn't get the microwave to work but that was not a problem for us). The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was modern, very clean, and light, complete with nice toiletries. Milda's very responsive and friendly communication was much appreciated. Overall, a lovely stay in a gorgeous part of the world. Thank you!

  • Beautifully renovated cottage in the Scottish Borders.

Lovely cottage. Warm, cosy, immaculate. Loved the bathroom. Car parking in the street just outside. The cottage is a 20 minute walk from Melrose and we walked into town along the Tweed riverbank and then back along the road. Interesting walks nearby. Only downsides - the ceiling height in the bedrooms is low and you really need a car as there are no shops or pubs in Newstead. For a quiet break in the Scottish Borders, this cottage is really good value for money. We would definitely go back.
