  • Very well equipped cottage in stunning countryside.

Overall a lovely cottage but two matters marred our stay. Firstly, we took our dog with us. We had no idea until we arrived that the lounge was upstairs, obviously to benefit from the lovely views, and dogs weren’t allowed upstairs. Think it should be obvious at the time of booking so people can choose whether this is acceptable to them. Most dogs are part of the family and are not used to being isolated. Our dog is not allowed on chairs etc but does like to be with us. Also it would be helpful if there was a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs, we had to put chairs at the bottom. He is very elderly so this stopped him, younger dogs would probably go up anyway! Secondly, the connecting wall to the farmhouse could do with some sound proofing. During most of our stay there were Contractors using it as a B&B. In the morning and evenings their voices could be heard through the wall. They were just having normal conversations. If my ears had been younger I would have heard every word they were saying!!
