We enjoyed a 4 night break just after Christmas and it was a really enjoyable stay and a good base to explore the rest of Devon. The cabin is very spacious and has everything you need along with a welcoming plate of scones with jam and cream so a very pleasant surprise. Would definitely recommend staying here in this lovely cabin with great hosts and a perfect location.

  • Very comfortable cottage - excellent location

This is probably one of the best places we have rented, and we usually have two or three long weekends/ weeks away each year in the UK. In some rentals, you are lucky if you get more than the basic four cups, four plates, and one tea towel etc - but this cottage was really well provisioned. Everything you would need for cooking a family meal, loads of cleaning materials, dishwasher tabs, soaps, shower gel etc; plus a really big basket of logs, with kindling wood. Most places give you four logs, and no matches, so this was a real treat! There are loads of games and toys, I'm sure young children would love it here. The bedrooms are very well furnished and comfortable, great shower rooms and bathrooms, and as each bedroom has its own bathroom, each guest has personal space and privacy. The sitting room has two sofas and two comfy chairs, so you can all sprawl in front of the fire with your books. Great walking from the door, easy access to footpaths, and there are fabulous walks across the moors within a few minutes' drive. Plenty of parking, and because this is off the main road, it's also quiet. This cottage sums up everything I love about Dartmoor - no noise, very few people and no street lights, so you can enjoy the stars. There are several good pubs in Moreton - the Horse has a roaring fire and comfy sofas - and the little Italian bistro, where you take your own wine, is very welcoming, and serves authentic food. The Co-op is open all hours, and sells great bread and croissants for breakfast None of us wanted to leave the cottage, or the village, but we had to get back to work etc. If you book this place, you will be very pleased you did. Thank you Kimberley.
