Waking up every morning to such beautiful views, (even when it rained) was a highlight for me. The villa was well equipped and we found there to be plenty of useable pots and pans to cook at the villa on the days we didn’t wish to eat out. Our two boys aged 3 and 8 enjoyed exploring all around the outside of the villa in the many different levels. We ventured down to the square of Coveta Fuma for the boys to play in the children’s play area, but found the bars and restaurants were a lot quieter during our stay (end October). We have visited Coveta Fuma 7 years ago so are familiar with the area and whilst the tram is very convenient for visiting El Campello and other coastal towns we felt it would be worthwhile hiring a car for our stay, which made supermarket shopping much easier. Communication with Daniel was brilliant, he responded to my messages quickly and provided all the relevant information to access the villa which was straight forward. We didn’t have any issues during our stay though I have no doubt any problems would have been quickly rectified. There was building work ongoing during our stay, with a big crane being visible and digging into the rocks. But I had seen from a previous reviewer this would be the case and so we didn’t let it bother us. I can imagine how amazing the views would be without the construction, and I don’t imagine it will be continuing for too much longer. The pool was too cold for us to swim in, though we did try. Having it heated would be great for the cooler months when it’s warm enough to sunbath. I hadn’t realised the water temps would drop so low at this time of year, so that’s a learn for me. We had a fantastic time at Casa Marron, the villa really was like being in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental and we would love to stay again soon.
We stayed at Casa Limon over October half term... 2 families of 4. The villa is a good size and had everything we needed. The owner Daniel was very helpful in the run up to the holiday, answering any questions we had very quickly. We asked if one of the double beds could be split as 2 of the children didn’t want to share, it couldn’t but they did provide a blow up bed and bed linen for £25 which worked well. Unfortunately the pool was very cold but I suppose that’s to be expected at this time of year, the children couldn’t really play in it very much though which they were very disappointed about!
There’s not a lot in the village and it is very hilly!! We only managed to catch the shop open once and even then they didn’t have any bread and milk which was all we needed at the time! There is a small square with a small play area, with a few bars and restaurants, we didn’t eat there but did have a drink. It was ok, very quiet but I guess that’s the time of year.
The best way to get about is the tram. The villa is only 5 mins from a tram stop from which you can go up and down the coast, it’s so easy and a great way of getting about, plus the kids found it very exciting! We had a visit to Benidorm, went into the next town El Campello a couple of times, and had a lovely meal at a restaurant called La Vela. Villajoyosa is a really nice place and well worth a visit for the day/night. We just went for dinner but wish we’d gone much earlier as it was lovely. We also went to Alicante for the day which was brilliant, we wandered around the harbour, visited the Castle and had a gorgeous meal at a restaurant called La Taberna de Gourmet, it wasn’t cheap but a lovely end to our week! Alicante was buzzing at night and somewhere we would like to revisit for a long weekend... without the children!
We hired cars and although we didn’t use them that much as we used the tram, we travelled to and from the airport which was really easy, and we did need it to do the shopping. There’s a big supermarket at El Campello which is only 10 mins away in the car.
All in all a lovely week away, we highly recommend this villa and would love to return one day!
