Nice welcome from Ray & Margaret along with home made coconut biscuits! Very peaceful surroundings with neighbourly sheep in field below apartment, cute blue/great tits on the feeders attached to the French doors and especially the local Barn Owl who appeared several times at dusk to patrol the sheep field. Brilliant! Sadly, due to recent illness and despite being situated in a convenient location for walking, the majority of 'walks' were limited to journeying from a car park to pub/restaurant and back! So we obviously made the best of it. On that note, we strongly recommend The Royal Yew in Dean, Aspava (Turkish) in Cockermouth and The Wainright in Keswick. We also popped over to Maryport and it's Seaquarium which is well worth a visit. Even their café looked surprisingly good with proper coffee. The weather?.....well we experienced all four seasons in the week and the lakes looked pretty full! Would come back again but later in year to hedge our bets! Overall a well equipped, clean and comfortable apartment. Thanks to you both.

Having been slightly apprehensive having read previous reviews decoration was fresh and acceptable and everywhere was spotless. Well equipped kitchen, roomy accommodation and WiFi as excellent. A good base for the northern lakes.
