                          Charming, peaceful home

We've stayed in more luxurious houses and prettier locations but there is something very special about this place. It's pretty much perfect for a family with kids - lots of space indoors, quiet cul de sac outside the front door and a big, pretty garden with a trampoline. The photos on the site don't really do the house justice. It oozes character and even its little quirks are pretty charming. It's not luxurious but it's very comfortable, spacious (With a new summer room at the back with day beds and attached shower room/toilet) and everything worked. The two single back bedrooms have electric shutters which meant total blackout - great for kids. The front double was surprisingly quiet even with our windows open all night. Upstairs there are two more good sized bedrooms and one has the bathroom attached which might be a small issue depending on your group but the downstairs walk in shower should give you enough options. Matthieu and Celine were very helpful with communication and neighbours Isabelle and Eric were great and took care of keys, contract, deposit and generally looked out for us. One warning - Bed linen is not included and has to be requested. This was a first for us so we turned up late after a long Eurotunnel delay with nothing. Luckily Isabelle dug some things out for us and we bought more from the supermarket but make sure you request or take your own. Berck itself was bustling and down to earth - bit like Margate. Not especially pretty and not upmarket like Le Touquet but we found it friendly and relaxing and spent most of the time on the huge beach. Eating out wasn't anything special but food shops are excellent as is usual for France. Tips would be Pinnochio for pizza and pasta (eat in and take away), fantastic bread and cakes from the Patisserie just up the road and renting beach huts for the half day or day which were good value. Le Touquet and Montreuil well worth a visit.
