  • Absolutely perfect in every way

We were two families, 5 adults and 5 children (ages 2 to 9). The house was fantastic - decor, furnishings, layout, utilities... everything. Somehow child friendly and grown up at the same time, and with everything we needed. There are architectural and design gems that you need to discover for yourself - suffice to say you will love this place. Outdoors was better still - incredible pool, gorgeous sunbathing and eating areas, great BBQ, excellent layout, fun to explore but safe, views we'll never forget. And off the property we could go for wonderful adventurous hikes or drive to lovely nearby restaurants or the perfect river banks where we played and bathed on two occasions. The nearby Braga and hilltop churches were well worth the day trip too. Then there's Trisha - on site and happy to help with any request, but not in the way. She even did some shopping for us the day we arrived so we got in to delicious roast chicken and wine!! And her do, B, the most placid dog imaginable - our toddler and 5 year old who arrived terrified of dogs, left wanting to take B with! (But if we didn't want B around, Trisha was perfectly happy to keep him out of the way.) To find fault because otherwise this review might seem too good to be true: - local town is nothing special, but that didn't matter as we had so much to do without it - beaches (1 hour drive) are quaint and fine for sunbathing and collecting pebbles, but sea is extremely cold and rocky, so doesn't feel safe to paddle in. But the beach towns are worth a visit if you;re staying longer than a week All in all - so lucky to have found this place. And Trisha and B are the cherry on the top!

  • Stunning Property in rural Portugal
    5 of 5

The house is absolutely gorgeous, and the pool and outside space is even more beautiful than the photos can show. The house is set on a hillside in a pretty village setting, churchbells throughout the day and fireworks many evenings. It was really quite a moving experience. The tennis court, pool and games room all well kept and equipment all supplied. The towns and area around was simply gorgeous, really authentic Portugal. Prices were very cheap. Recommend Braga, Barcelos, Porto and Afife beach. Pedro was very helpful and speaks great English, their onsite family home fenced off and separate apart from the odd car passing down the driveway. Everything is provided, we even got extra towels when we asked . Only one room had a shower wall attachment the rest were hand held. We had a little issue with the downstairs room being a bit dampish but I understand this is being fixed. And not so much a criticism as just advice, the internal stairs are beautiful but perhaps not ideal for very small children or for anyone with mobility issues, In all, I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here especially for large groups. We all (5 adults and 3 kids)left a little bit in love with Portugal and Quinta Agrela. Thank you.
