Things to do in Spain

  • Outdoor Activities - Spain boasts 14 National Parks, many more Natural Parks and large expanses of sparsely populated countryside; perfect for outdoor pursuits like walking and bike riding. Most towns have a tourist information centre where you’ll be able to find out about the local walking and biking routes as well as details of local companies offering special tours or adventure sports.
  • Golf - Spain is one of Europe’s top destinations for golf, with a wealth of courses clustered around the major urban centres of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao. You will also find them dotted along the coast, on the Costa Brava, Costa Azahar, the Costa Blanca and in Malaga, which is perfect if you are staying in one of our Costa del Sol villas. Premier courses include the renowned Valderrama and PGA Catalonia.
  • Food and drink - Spain is a country with a defined cuisine but there are exciting variations and specialities from town to town. Olive oil and paprika are found in many dishes and Spanish ham carries a certain prestige. Tapas are also a particularly famous Spanish food which tend to differ regionally. There are also a number of wine regions with wineries that can be visited; Cava, the sparkling wine is perhaps the best known export.
  • Beaches - Spain is blessed with beautiful coastline, on both the Atlantic and Mediterranean. One of the main destinations for Spanish beach accommodation is the Costa del Sol in the south, which not only boasts golden sandy beaches offering great amenities and water sports, but is also served by a tremendous tourism infrastructure, including waterparks and golf courses. If you are staying in one of our apartments in Barcelona you can still visit the beach there, with golden sand and a lively city atmosphere.
  • Culture - Some of the world’s most revered cultural institutions are located in Spain. In Madrid you’ll be able to visit the Museo del Prado, with one of the most important art collections on the planet. While in Bilbao there’s the iconic, Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim and the small town of Figueres in Catalonia is home to a museum devoted to Salvador Dali.

Weather in Spain

Covering a large area and encompassing all kinds of different terrains, Spain has a climate that varies greatly. The warmest regions are in the centre and on the southern and eastern coasts, where summer highs can get up to 35 degrees or more for much of June, July and August. If you visit our holiday rentals in Spain in the winter you will still encounter mild weather, with daily highs in the teens but in Spain’s centre winter temperatures can be surprisingly cold. The far north and northwest is cooler and damper on average, while in winter snow falls in mountainous regions like the Pyrenees, Picos de Europa and Sierra Nevada.

Travelling to Spain

Spain has an efficient and wide-ranging rail network, with high-speed lines running between a number of major cities like Madrid, Valencia, Seville and Barcelona; dramatically cutting journey times. You’ll also be able to travel regionally by coach via private companies. Key cities and holiday regions are also served by one or more international airports; for instance Barcelona, the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada can be reached via Barcelona El Prat (BCN), Girona (GRO) and Reus (REU).

Lovely boat.

5 of 5
Spent 2 weeks on this boat. There was 4 of us all adults. We found there was enough room for us all and everything you need is on the boat. Pedro answers all your questions and any info needed instantly. We also used the nearby hotel facility’s in the day (pool, sun loungers etc), which they were fine about as long as we bought drinks etc. It is also just a 10 taxi minute drive from airport. Will defiantly be rebooking again next year.
