From the moment we stepped off the plane at Thessaloniki this holiday just flowed, we hired a car at the Airport (Avis) who gave us a very clear map on how to get to Halkadiki which was a straight road for about one and half hours - the instructions to find the apartment were easy and our hosts were there to greet us. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed was there, we had a room with a seaview and the furnishing were very well appointed, the family live in the apartments at the front of the villa. The gardens are beautiful although we did not have time to sit in the gazebo or have a bar.b.que because we were out exploring every day. There is a beach opposite which is very nice. Every morning we walked into the village along the promenade to buy our fresh bread and provisions and then went back to have a cooked breakfast to set us up for the day. Our hosts even let you take the beach chairs and umbrella out for the day, although most bars on the beaches let you have them for free if you buy your drinks. We found the cost of food and drinks lower than the price in England the petrol was about the same. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday and in doing so I know you would have a good one. Incidentally there were very few people from the UK in Halkadiki which was quite strange as when I went 25 years ago it seemed to be mostly British people, so if you want a holiday which is unspoilt and relaxing try this - we hope to return soon.
