  • A Villa and people beyond words

We have returned home from a fantastic 2 weeks in Tuscany wishing that we had spent two weeks in Tuscany! The Farmhouse Coccinelle (what a funny name!) was the perfect pla-ce for our family of 4 (all adults) to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the house. Thanks to the loving care that Sonia put into this property, we hated to leave! Upon our ar-rival, we received a great orientation about the area and the rich history of the home. We were also given cell phones and a preprogrammed GPS (very helpful!) to use for the week that we requested in advance to Mrs Cristina. Thanks to Cristina, we had a deli-cious meal delivered to the villa to enjoy our first night. This was money well spent as we were tired from our long trip. We took day trips to Lucca (very close), Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terre. Sonia has all of the directions for these destinations at the villa. We enjoy-ed all of the day trips, but hated to leave the beautiful villa. After we returned from our day trips, the kids headed straight for the pool with a garden and setting that is beyond words. When we travel, we really enjoy getting to know the people who live in the area and seeing how they live. We enjoyed using our limited Italian to talk to the neighbors...they were very friendly and even brought us fresh figs from her garden...yum! Another group invited me to sit down with them as I was returning from my morning run. A highlight of the trip was the barbeque party at the villa. Cristina fired up bbq and taught us how to make the best meat that we have ever had. It was fun to chat with her about life in Italy...a night that we will always remember. Finally, we all slept like babies at the is quiet! The only sounds you hear in the morning are birds and roosters...wonderful! The beds were extremely comfortable with fresh linen sheets. We loved our visit... Very Grateful Mark and Stephanie, your guests in November 2018

I was surprised with a trip to Italy (Thank you again Sonia and Mrs Cristina) and had no idea what to expect.I was so happy when we walked through the gardens of Villa Pallina. It felt like home. It was my first time renting through the bespoke Mrs Sonia (The owner/restorer/gracious keeper at Villa Pallina and she is a perfect host. Fly directly into Pisa international airport & drive to the villa 45 mins away. The 2floor Villa is clean, gorgeous & vast: full-service kitchen have everything you need. I'm a chef & have been cooking every single night. full baths, 3 bedrooms, Wifi, clothes wa-sher,dishwasher, HUGE common areas, more outdoor areas than we had time to utilize, & a real brick pizza oven are at the ready forthose who actually want to cook. If you don't want to cook, ea-ting out is fantastic-ask for recommendations. My favorite was Sonia recommend: Ristorante But-terfly at the base of the hill. The gorgeous modern pool was up & running in late october. It was the first-choice-hang-spot every sunset. The views from the Villa are spectacular! The silvery olives groves &bright flowers that dot the mountainside, the Honey Factory just across the valley, & win-ding river below are every day eye candy so bring lots of memory + extra batteries for your came-ra. To do: -RELAX at the villa, -shop, -hike, -olive harvest, -swim, -day trips like Cinque Terre, Flo-rence, Pisa, -wine tours, -cooking class (we had a wonderful cooking class with Mrs Cristina in the garden of the villa and we learned how to make home made pasta and pizza) that highlights local cuisine using ingredients that grow WILD on the mountain--Just great!
