  • Spring in the hills

This is a wonderfully furnished house and the setting is delightful, with a magnificent view over neighbouring hillside and mountains. . The furnishings were of a standard that would make one envious. Looking west the sea was visible, and when visibility was good, we could make out the coastline of Tenerife. In fact Teide could be seen when closer to the shore. It’s situated in a small friendly community of helpful people. We found two good walking routes from the village of San Pedro which is at the foot of the steps in front of the house. Locals were keen to guide us even though we had little language in common as this is not a tourist hot spot. Access from Las Palmas on GC2 was relatively straightforward until we came to the small town of Agaete which we had to pass through. There was a fiesta on that evening and we had to travel a circuitous diversion in the dark. This is the aspect which I feel could have been improved by the owner or agent. We received very little information about how to find the place or where to park the car. There was no handbook of guidance except in regard to restaurants. We could have done with knowing where to shop on a Sunday for example, when most shops were closed. There was internet access but it was both intermittent and weak and some of my queries went unanswered. A little time spent on these matters would make quite a difference we felt.
