  • A fabulous place to stay with the added bonus of lovely owners

From the moment we arrived we knew that this was going to be the ideal place for our ten day visit. Once we had freshened up we joined Fabrice and Alexandra who had invited us for a glass of wine and a beer. They made us feel very welcome from the first moment we met. They also provided us with all the local knowledge we needed to enjoy our stay. The property was clean, well equipped, cared for and gave us everything we needed. We were able to cook and eat outside as the weather during our stay was perfect. The pool was covered at night which means even if the temperature outside drops it is possible to swim late into the evening. And as soon as the cover is pulled back in the morning the pool temperature is perfect for an early morning dip. There was more than ample seating both in the sun or shade by our Gite, in the garden and by the pool, as well as plenty of loungers. Ideal for those relaxing days. The location, too, was perfect for exploring the region. There are so many things to do in this part of France we are sure that we will return to this area one day, and indeed this property providing it is available. I look forward to being able visiting again in either the spring or summer months as I am sure that we would see some fabulous colours. The family have a lovely dog called Junior who looked as sad as I felt when we had to say goodbye. We would like to take this opportunity thank Fabrice, Alexandra, Floren and Junior for a great holiday.

We spent a week at Philippe and Aurelie's house in Villeneuve Lez Avignon in early September; we had superb weather and loved our stay in this relaxing house. The pool was great for cooling off and we ate all our family meals outdoors under the trees. The house was well-equipped for cooking. Villeneuve has outstanding sites of its own to visit - the fort, Abbey gardens, Philip le Bel Tower and Chartreuse monastery and is an atmospheric place with a great market on Thursdays. We walked to Avignon a lot but also used Bus Line 40 from Les Angles to the city walls to see the Palace of the Popes and other places, including Pont du Gard which was only a 25-minute bus ride away. Amazing river swimming under the historic Roman aqueduct.
