Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here three weeks. It is the fourth or fifth apartment we've rented in Aix over the past few years and was absolutely perfect for our needs. Fabienne was outside the apartment to greet us on arrival. (You can't park on the street so my husband dropped me and our luggage at the apartment and Fabienne drove with him to show him the parking space.) She was wonderfully efficient, attentive and helpful whenever we had a question which made our stay really carefree!

Now, about the apartment: First, the location is a quiet half-block from a delightfully busy square and just a block from the Cours Mirabeau. Second, the apartment 'lives' better than the photos can show. There is a gracious flow to the rooms. My husband and I took the front bedroom with the modernized en-suite bathroom. We heard some street sounds every now and again but these were never disruptive and we always set one of the large fans outside our room for ambient sound. The bed, sheets and comforter were so comfortable we slept better in the apartment than we do at home. Aix's temperature ranged from the 80's to the 60's during our September stay and we used both the air conditioning and heat to keep us comfortable.

The living and dining rooms are very large and well decorated. The living room furniture is comfy and we spent many an evening gathered there competing for bragging rights on the provided backgammon set. We ate all breakfasts and many lunches in the well-lit kitchen. All appliances are new and operate perfectly. The evenings we did not go out for dinner we ate in the gracious dining room.

We had two sets of guests during our stay, friends first then family, each for a week's stay. Their accommodations were on the other side of the kitchen which provided them (and us) absolute privacy. They all loved the apartment, as well. Their modern bathroom had the washer dryer - a must when you travel, as we all do, with carry-on.

We highly recommend this apartment and, if it is available during our next visit, would happily stay here again.

My jaw dropped as we entered this apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was even more spectacular than the images on the website. We stayed here for a week, and did not want to leave. The character, comfortable furniture and great location just made our time in Aix even more special. The building is just a block from a busy square, but once inside, we couldn't hear anything. The terrace has plenty of seating and is cool in the evening. Perfect for relaxing after a busy day of touring. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner was easy to contact and the manager was waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this apartment and hopefully will be back again!

A Lovely Apartment in Aix

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year’s in this lovely apartment. It has all the charm of an 18th century apartment, but with all the modern conveniences one relies on. The pictures don’t do it justice. We liked the Provencal / Moroccan décor with a few antiques. The beds, dishes, linens and such seem to all be from Ikea. The bathrooms are all new. One is a full bath/shower+sink+toilet, the other is a shower+sink+W/D with the toilet in a separate little room nearby. The showers both have European handheld and American style overhead sprayers. We brought our 10 month old daughter with us. The stairs are not bad at all, we carried our stroller up and down every day. The owner made a special effort to arrange a high chair and crib for us. Her extra effort is indicative of her thoughtful and thorough preparation of the apartment. There’s a folder full of useful information about the apartment and local services. The apartment is well located on a side street inside the historic center. There is some youthful rowdiness audible from the front of the apartment, but the back two bedrooms are pretty quiet. Aix was surprisingly bustling with students and holiday shoppers – we were expecting off-season quiet. There was a problem with the heat in one bedroom, the owners were very attentive and made a good faith effort to resolve the situation in a timely matter despite it being the holidays. They speak perfect English and communication was not a problem at all. The parking was easy and in a close by modern shopping/apartment complex, but rent a smallish car, the space is tight! And you certainly don’t need a car if you plan to stay just in Aix, you can walk from one end of the historic center to the other in about 10-15 minutes. The terrace seemed very nice and would be lovely in the Summer but we didn’t use it. We would recommend this apartment for a family or for 4-6 adults.

Lovely Apartment in the Heart of Aix-en-Provence

  • 5 of 5

Lovely 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment with high ceilings, French charm and modern conveniences in the heart of Aix around the corner from the Routunde. First floor walkup - no elevator. Considering its central location, it was very quiet inside. Location and photos in the listing were very accurate, although for some reason the listing says there is only one bathroom when actually there are two full baths. Also has a new washer/drier in one of the bathrooms. Exceedingly well maintained and stocked, nice linens. The attached inner courtyard was a wonderful bonus and a great place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. We loved the charm of the outdoor markets. The apartment owner was exceptionally easy to deal with and we were met at the apartment and given a thorough intro and tour with recommendations on places of interest and where to eat. The only negative about the apartment would be that you cannot park on the road outside the apartment but have to use the underground parking in the nearby shopping mall - about a 5 minute walk. Not ideal, but not that inconvenient as the Monoprix is by the parking. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Super séjour

  • 5 of 5
