Located on The Best Beach In Town. If you are not from the area you need to read this to see the difference. Your family will thank you.

There are 4 distinct Beaches in St Augustine. Be sure and find out “where” your beach house is located before you book. I believe this is the Best section for 5 reason:

First is the Sand. The sand is like powder, not coarse ground up shells like Vilano to the north. This is the white powder you are looking for. Great for drip castles!

Second, at Ocean Is Right At Your Door Step. There is no long raised boardwalk like further south along Atlantic View with a 5 minute walk across the dunes to navigate with the cooler & chairs before you ever get to the water. Here the ocean and the View is steps from your door. Be careful. There are some “beachfront” homes that are so “far from the beach” because of the sand dunes that you can hardly “see” the ocean.

Third, there are No Cars. This is a major distinction. Everything south of A Street has Cars. Imagine trying to play paddle ball or throwing football with cars continually passing by & having to be on constant baby alert. Not while you are on vacation!

Fourth, the beach is WIDE with Great Waves - Some beaches in Vilano to the north are narrow & steep, some even with rocks. The slope of the beach affects the waves. They break so close in you can't boogie board. The locals consider this the Best Surfing around. There's a friendly Surf shop with lessons & rentals right down the street on 1st Lane if you have some adventurous ones. The rest will have plenty of fun with the boogie boards provided by Seaside Cottages free of charge.

Last, the beach is within Walking Distance of loads of restaurants. Many beaches both north and south are so isolated you have a long drive to get to anything. Not here. It is so nice to be able to walk over to a restaurant for breakfast or send the kids out for a fish sandwich instead of having to cook. Publix Supermarket and Starbucks are only 1 mile away. There is a park nearby with Tennis and a YMCA for swimming or workout. Even a funky BBQ restaurant with live music and a Pool for their guest. The City has a pier with Splash park, Volleyball court and Live Music on Wednesday nights. Call for a list of Things To Do. I am available day or night 9044653852.

Always at your service,

About Linda Bayles

My name is Linda Bayles from Lindasbeach. I have been a Realtor in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area ranking in the Top 1% of Agents since 1998.

I work primarily as a Single Agent. There are not many of us out there. Most Realtors work as neutral Transaction Agents. You can google 'Buyers Agent' to get an overview of the difference. I think it is big. Just ask yourself the question, Would I want the other sides Attorney to represent me too? That's it in a nut shell but the amazing thing is, unlike Attorneys, it does not cost you anything to have your OWN Realtor representing just YOUR interest. We are all paid by the Seller. So .... I would love to help if you are thinking about buying or selling in the area. Just call and I will start sending photos of homes so you can get familiar with the options before you come. Once here just let me know when you are available. We can see about 4 per hour. Check out my Realtor website: www.BuySell.ListingBook.com

And in 2004, I fell in love with St Augustine Beach.

Linda Bayles purchased this house in 2011

Why Linda Bayles chose Saint Augustine

In 2005 I walked into a 1926 beach cottage on St Augustine Beach and knew I had found my calling. I wanted to 'Create' a vacation space for Families. Large extended families. A place were Cousins, Grandmothers, Uncles and Aunts can comfortably come together to reconnect and enjoy each other away from the demands of the outside world.

I come from a large family of 5 children as does my husband, Brad. Some of my fondest memories are when we all got together to just 'hang out' for 3 or 4 days. The little ones always come up with a 'play'. The adults always congregate in the Kitchen passing down the 'Family Recipes' to the next generation and playing Games. We are a big Game playing family. Specifically Rummikub . If you have never played, you should. I make sure there is one in each house and once you are hooked and have one of your own, hope you will think of your St Augustine stay every time you play. (Call and I will give you the rules)

So I bought that 1926 Craftsman, gutted it and turned it into The Chautauqua which sleeps 22. It has been a rewarding success.

In 2011, my Father expanded the tradition and bought 4 homes on 3 Oceanfront lots. We could not believe our luck and spent the next year remodeling them into The Seaside Cottages. We just put them on the market in June 2012.

Now we can accommodate up to 35 in one location! Cottage 1 is 5 bedroom 5 bath plus 2 sleeper sofas, 1 daybed and 2 bunks. Cottage 2 is a 2 Bedroom 3 bath plus sleeper sofa. Cottage 3 (here) is a 2 bedroom 2 bath with Sleeper. And Cottage 4 is a 1 bedroom 1.5 bath with Sleeper.

The Best part is not only the houses but the BEACH. There are only 18 streets on the “Best Beach” - No cars. No Catwalk. The ocean right at your door. Everything within walking distance…. And we now have homes on 2 of the them!

I hope you will come stay with us and create memories you will cherish for a lifetime. Then I will consider it a success.

Guestbook comments from the manager

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We rented cottages one and three for our weeklong family reunion and had a wonderful time. We all enjoyed being so close to the beach. Since there were 26 of us we had a problem finding all the bedding we needed at first. However, the places are well furnished with flat screen TVs everywhere. The adults thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs balcony of cottage one with the evening breezes and nice view.

Beautiful property and great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beachfront home for five nights in October with a group of five couples. The house is beautifully decorated and equipped. We have rented many houses on VRBO but have never stayed in a house that has more than adequate number of towels, beach towels, beach chairs etc for you to use. The kitchen was also sufficiently equipped with utensils glassware and pots and pans.

It was a nice plus for each couple to have their own bedroom and private bath. There was also a bunk room that we did not use

The house is only steps away from the beautiful sandy beach. It is also walking distance to several restaurants, ice cream shops and beach shops.

I would highly recommend this house for a large family or group of friends! We will for sure be back next year.

Wedding Extravaganza

  • 5 of 5

My son was married in St Augustine and we stayed in cottage one and had relatives from the Mid-west visit for 3 day stay. We rented 2 other houses also. We loved everything. Nothing was lacking. The weather was bad for 2 days so we were stuck inside and we still had a great time. The houses are set up great for congregating. We did have some good weather and the beach is sooo convenient. Bathrooms are wonderful. Kitchens have everything. Beds are comfortable. Just can't say enough good things. Would definitely stay again!!

Look no further! A perfect beach house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of ten had a wonderful week in this perfect seaside house. The house is well stocked, beautifully decorated, well maintained, very comfortable and in a desirable location. The bed linens and towels were quality, as were the dishes, pans, and kitchen utensils. We have no negatives, only a suggestion that a fan on the much used veranda would be wonderful. My swimming family enjoyed hours on the beach. Papa and granddaughters enjoyed workout at YMCA. The house has a great location to walk to mini golf, nightly ice cream, and restaurants. We felt very secure in this wonderful neighborhood. Our Wednesday dinner of shrimp, fresh pasta, an outstanding olive oil, bread and yummy tomatoes was purchased at the pier's farmers market. The little taco joint nearby and the Ice House restaurant in St. Augustine are favorites. The little bunk room was declared a napping nook by two very tall granddaughters. Linda was very responsive to all questions and needs. We could not have had a better week and would love to return

Excellent Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had 12 family members stay in both the up and downstairs of Cottage 1 across 3 generations to celebrate my Mom's birthday. the cottage exceeded our expectations with plenty of gathering, game playing and dining spaces. The wrap around porch upstairs is fantastic for dining, reading and watching the storms roll in. The beach is a small walk over the dunes and is pedestrian only (except for emergency vehicles). We ate in all but 2 nights when we ventured out to Creekside Dinery and BlackFly- both excellent restaurants. Grandparents and grandchildren enjoyed the mini-golf just a few blocks away. Low tide in the mornings made walking/running on the beach a great way to burn off all the vacation eating! We had a wonderful week and would come back in a heartbeat!

An Unforgettable experience

  • 5 of 5

It was really impressive that my mother-in-law found this property for my sister-in-law's wedding. I loved how all the families were together and it was oceanfront. I have two young boys who loves the beach so this property topped it off. It is still close to everything you needed to do whether it is downtown St. Augustine or the beach. Overall, this was the perfect spot! It beats the hotels anywhere else in St. Augustine!

Perfect Oceanfront Home for a Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Nineteen family members, ages one to seventy one rented Cottages 1 and 2 at Seaside Cottages. This beautiful property is as listed regarding location, layout and amenities. The decorations are just as pictured from artwork to the bedding on all of the beds. The kitchen is up to date with all appliances, cookware, bar ware, dishes and silverware.. Everything anyone could possibly need. The upper deck has a fantastic view of the ocean with a lot of outdoor furniture. The lower patio and back BBQ area are very nice and comfortable. We took advantage of the grills several of the nights. The beach is only a short walk awa;y. We hired a local photographer to take family pictures on the beach. A lot of fun!! Great place to stay!!!
