There is satellite TV, Ipod docking station/CD player and Wi Fi ADSL . The living room opens up onto a 38 feet wide covered terrace for outdoor living and dining and wet bar. There is also a large open terrace with BBQ leading to the pool. The Master bedroom has King size canopy bed and opens onto the covered terrace. Apartment Management & Housekeeper: Our managing agents are very reliable and well established on the island. The villa manager is always contactable if there are any queries or problems. Our friendly and helpful housekeeper is also on hand six mornings per week and can always help with day to day queries. She will make the beds and change towels daily, change bed linen when required. Personal laundry is by arrangement with her and dependent upon time available.
We had a lovely time, we got married on this island five years ago, my husband organised a surprise wedding. Kids had a lovely time, can't wait to come back. Villa was beautiful.
The pictures don't lie! This apartment is absolutely stunning and has everything one needs away from home to enjoy wonderful holidays. It was also clean and well designed. Having a pool to ourselves made it even more special. Denise cleaned up every day and even did some washing. From the apartment it is only a short walk to the beach (100m), but be carefull when crossing the street. It is the main street along the coast and all busses pass through there, which was the only negative point about the apartment: when sitting on the terrace the street noise was loud.
We hired a car because that makes it easier to see the island and to do the shopping. The apartment is a bit out of the way, which is not unusual for Barbados, unless you stay at St. Lawrence Gap. Unfortunately we were not allowed to drink at the Waves Hotel Bar (across the street) as it is all inclusive. We once walked to Il Tempio. It has a small bar, good for sunset. We had to take the car to visit other restaurants (like Zaccios). It was our first time in Barbados so we were not used to the characteristics of this island. The weather is great in March, not too warm and just a bit of rain. We did feel a bit awkward when people came and greeted us and then asked for money. The Barbadians also seem to like noise.
We loved to BBQ and enjoy the shade on the terrace. All in all we had a great time at the apartment.
Our stay at Emerald Pearl was amazing. My sons and I absolutely loved staying in the villa. It was like home away from home, everything was available and very tastefully decorated. You did an amazing job Louise and we especially loved using the pool everyday. Very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Denise, the Housekeeper, was incredible and we will really miss her. The house was exceptionally clean. Thanks to her we discovered Zaccios which has an excellent beach and great food. We will most definitely return and will recommend to friends.
Emerald Pearl is one of the nicest rental places we stayed at around the world. One of the "things" that makes it the best is Denise, the housekeeper. She is truly the nicest human being, keeps the condo very clean, and has an eye for detail. We felt very spoiled by Denise's attentive care. The condo has good quality finishes, the kitchen is well equiped, very comfortable bed with good quality linens. We enjoyed the pool every day after coming home from the beach, and the outdoor living is top notch. Our favorite beach is Rockley Beach on the south side, 2 min drive from the best roti place on the island, Ackee Tree. Do not miss Cin Cin, while a bit pretentious, the food was the best in my opinion. Try the gnocchi at Il Tempio, the Backyard BBQ (went there twice), breakfast at Flindt, the bread pudding at Cariba, cocktails and sushi at Nishi. Thank you Louise and Andrew for sharing your home with us, we hope to return soon.
what a fantastic villa, every whim catered for, denise the housekeeper was a gem, fantastic outside living space and pool great location stay there you wont be disappointed
We had a great stay here in January 2011. There were 6 adults and one small child ranging from 2-80 years old. The facilities are exactly as described, if not better, and the advice and help from the housekeeper and recommended taxi driver were excellent. The apartments were quiet although pretty adjacent to a main road - but this was no problem and certainly not intrusive. There is a supermarket nearby and a fresh fish market with others a 10-15 minute bus ride away. We had some wonderful barbecues. You probably need to hire a car unless you are very happy using the buses all the time - again we were given good advice on this and got a good deal. Holetown is nearby and we had some great meals there and at the nearby The Cliff - one of the best restaurants on the island in a great setting. The owner was very helpful too and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. I would fully recommend the Emerald Pearl for a relaxing stay in high quality accommodation.
Our family of 6 adults just returned from a week in this beautiful apartment. The interior is impeccable - spacious with a well planned floor plan. All rooms look out to the large, beautiful lanai and private pool. It is every bit as beautiful as pictured. The community pool was nice for early morning sun and then the private pool was perfect for private sun and fun after 11 am. Louise, the owner, was very responsive to my many inquiries in the months prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the normal housekeeper, Denise, was called away this week. All comments in the private journal indicated her wealth of knowledge of things to do, so we missed that. However, the substitute housekeeper, Faye, was so sweet and accomodating and kept the apartment in beautiful condition every day. We were initially a bit surprised at the neighborhood surrounding the apartment - worn down and even a few farm animals. But we quickly realized the people were friendly and helpful and we were in a neighborhood. The view of the Caribbean across the street was beautiful. Jordan's, the nearby Supermarket, sufficed for any of our cooking needs. (Being meat eaters, we got a permit from the Ministry of Veterinary Medicine to bring in our own beef.) There's a fish market in Payne's Bay as well. We went many places on the bus - both the yellow bus and blue one. Everyone was very helpful when we needed directions. We took an East Coast tour and swam with the turtles with Glory Tours, which was awesome! Quammie was a very knowlegeable guide. Our two favorite restaurants were Zaccios and Cariba. We spent a day in Bridgetown and Browne Beach, which was beautiful. We toured the Concorde by the airport prior to our departure which was worth the $20. The wireless internet was an added bonus, especially since we had to do a lot of research and planning of things to do on our own. I would highly recommend this apartment. We have rented many condos on various islands and this one is the most beautiful! It was hard to come back to cold weather!
