Farmhouse, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Travelers Rest is listed in the King & Queen book of historical homes. There are two houses. The main house was build in 1860. The original house, which is now the guest house was build in 1750. This historical home will set you back in time, with its old woodwork and lavish you with all the modern comforts.

Travelers Rests name comes from it being a place George Washington would stop and rest when he was traveling between Washington and Williamsburg. Travelers Rest Farm promises georgeous sunrises and relaxing sunsets. Take a chair and enjoy the views that made us fall in love with this place.

You can enjoy this peaceful place by yourself, with family and/or friends. If you desire to hide out this is your place. If you would like to have a little activity ........horse riding, yoga, get a massage or take floral design classes from a German master florist.

Beautiful Oasis

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely love this place! We stayed here before having my small wedding here and I never want to leave. The scenery is so unexpected and then you drive up, get out and explore!!! Beautiful place, nice pond to fish and relax at, precious horses, adorable dogs to greet you and love up on you!!! The property made an awesome background for my wedding. Anges is a wonderful hostess and love talking with her. I love the guest house, so much history and it has a presence of it's own!!! I look forward to many more visits here!

Serene beauty

  • 5 of 5

This unique historic stop was well worth it. Our hostess was there when needed without being intrusive. The historic home is filled with amenities that leave you needing nothing else. Our daughter's enjoyed horse back riding and spending the day at Horse camp. They are still talking about the fun they had and can't wait to return next year.

Amazing place in beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at Travellers Rest Farm. Agnes and Charlotte were wonderful and my kids took a real shine to them. They also adored the horses and dogs, and enjoyed helping in the stables. The house was very cosy and had everything you need, including toys, kitchen utensils, essential food items, laundry facilities, DVDs, wifi, outdoor seating, toilettery samples etc. It was a 45 minute drive from Richmond, which has a lot to offer, or you could stay at the farm and enjoy the peace! We would love to come back sometime!

Great stay. We were comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

A family of six stayed here very comfortably. Owners were helpful. We used the location as a base for day travel. It was great to have room, the kids could go outside and stretch. We enjoyed getting out of the cities and relaxing in a rural setting at night. We used the full kitchen to cook breakfast and supper. It saved us quite a bit of money. We would go back and use the same property again.

Beautiful location, charming/clean farm house, and super friendly hosts

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Travelers Rest farm host. The historical farm house has plenty of charm, but you're still connected withi Wifi if needed. The farm itself is beautiful, and the Agnes, the host was responsive leading up to the visit, and super friendly in-person. We'll definitely be returning for some horseback riding.
