Weekend away with family
Had a lovely weekend away with my children and 2 grandchildren. Easy to find. Beautiful location. Friendly welcome by owner. Property had everything we needed. But the highlight was the pool which is bigger than it looks in the photos. Whole family loved it and spent several hours playing our own version of water volleyball. Followed by a barbeque. Perfect.
A fantastic location with stunning views! Excellent pool, sauna and games' room to entertain all!
Relaxing, cosy and comfortable with the potential to have lots of people in one building! Amazing field to relax in outside the pool area and plenty to keep us all entertained in the games' room. Sunshine for breakfast in the back terraced garden due to good aspect of property! We will definitely come again with friends and family!!
Amazing location and a great pool. Brilliant family property.
Thank you. I hope to see you again.
The cottage was fantastic. Spacious and well equipped and the pool, sauna and games room a great added bonus. Barbara was a wonderful and welcoming host. Great location with Dartmoor on the doorstep, enjoying some fab walks over tor’s and along the rivers. We will definitely be coming back 😊
Very comfortable spacious property with plenty of equipment making it a home away from home.
Great place t share our family Christmas, aged 87 years young to 3 months old and aged Labrador.
Barbara was very welcoming.
The cottage is excellently placed for walks on Dartmoor and Castle Drogo is just down the road. Spinsters Rock nice short walk from the cottage. There was enough internal space to not feel crowded, had the feel of a chalet in the alps. The games room was fun and swimming pool lovely to mess around in. Kitchen well equipped lots of dishes, even electric whisk and coffee maker.
Dartmoor National Park is one of the last wilderness areas of Britain -- moorland landscape, wild ponies, ancient settlements -- great walks. Also easy access to Exmoor, and either the rugged seascapes of North Devon and Cornwall or the milder Channel shores of South Devon. 3 miles from Chagford (old town known for its shopping and nearby walks), 10 from Exeter, 8 from Okehampton. We are within 10 miles of three 18 hole golf courses including Bovey Castle. Only an hour from the Eden Project. Children love the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead (5 miles) and the House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey (12 miles). Five minutes from the last castle built in England -- Castle Drogo. 13 miles from Exeter and Exeter University.
On a typical day at East Underdown you could talk a short walk up the road to the ancient stones of Spinster's Rock, lunch at one of the many local pubs, relax with a swim and sauna before cuddling up by the wood burner (or hanging out on the private patio).
